A hillside locale in the heart of historic Maillardville
Amber Chia recently retired and moved back to Vancouver from California.
Chia spent weeks looking at several high-rises both in Burnaby and Vancouver until a friend told her about Horizon 21.
“I had never considered Coquitlam until my friend brought me out there,” says Chia. “I was completely taken by Horizon 21’s location on the hillside, the great shopping close by and how Coquitlam isn’t as busy as it is in Vancouver and Burnaby.”

So taken was Chia with the condos at Horizon 21, she purchased a one-bedroom and a studio suite.
“I plan on living in the one-bedroom and rent out the studio,” Chia says. “The layout, high ceilings, interior finishes and the building itself really impressed me.”
Nestled on a tree-lined street in the heart of Coquitlam’s historic Mallairdville, Horizon 21 is a multi-use 21-storey concrete tower with eight street-level townhomes and one-two and three-bedroom condos featuring sweeping views of the Fraser Valley, Fraser River and Mount Baker.
“Horizon 21 is the best value in the market today, offering a really attainable opportunity for people to own and live in a wonderful building, which is the first high rise in the area,” says Cam Good, president Key Marketing. “Buyers also like that construction will be complete when they move in as opposed to other projects where they might live in a construction site for five to 10 years.”
Ranging from 401 square feet for a studio, up to spacious 1,380 square foot townhomes, Horizon 21 offers a unique opportunity to purchase a timeless West coast modern residence, each with its own oversized private balcony, terrace or patio, for busy, city dwellers.

Each residence comes with high-end finishes, including elegant wide plank laminate floors on the main, soaring nine-foot ceilings, frameless walk-in showers, matte black fixtures, and gourmet kitchens featuring Blomberg and Bosch appliances, marble-inspired porcelain backsplash, and quartz countertops.
A short two blocks from an elementary school, its location is unrivalled in its proximity and access to all parts of Metro Vancouver — within very easy and close access to Lougheed and the Trans-Canada highways, as well as within walking distance to a great mix of cafes, restaurants and shopping. For those who prefer taking transit, the SkyTrain at Braid Station is a quick 10-minute walk from home.
“Buyers love being able to drive north, south, east or west very easily from this location,” Good says. “Coquitlam has been quietly booming as it has forever been a more expensive market than Surrey but is now, for some reason, temporarily less expensive than Surrey.”

Then there are the in-house private amenities. No need to leave your home for the gym, there is a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art fitness centre, as well as a multifunctional room with kitchen and spacious dining area and an outdoor patio with fire pit, to take in stunning vistas of the mighty Fraser River.
With more than a third of the homes sold and prices for a one-bedroom starting at $398,900, Horizon 21 is sure to sell fast. Horizon 21 Presentation Centre, located at 218 Blue Mountain Street, Coquitlam, is open by appointment only.
